Connecting rod bushing is made of bimetal material, which has the characteristics of high torsion and high impact resistance. Various composite bimetal bushings for connecting rods can be produced according to the customer’s drawings and requirements. One of the common use is in an internal combustion engine where it connects the piston to the crankshaft. Connecting rod bushings are generally used in high-volume industries like the manufacturing of cars, trucks, and other industrial products. Bushing for connecting rod can wear out over time, so it is good to replace it. For the design and manufacture of the bimetal bushing, we have accumulated rich experience. So our bimetal bushings have a good performance in anti-wear, high-frequency oscillation, and heat-resistant.
These Connecting rods bushing work under a wide variety of harsh conditions – they are able to withstand extremely high bending and torsional stresses, withstanding temperatures up to 500-700 degrees Celsius/ 932-1292 °F as well as extreme impacts. Connecting rod bushings are also used in connecting rods in high-speed diesel (HDD) engines to reduce wear under excessive impacts and ensure long engine service life.
Connecting Rod Bushings should be replaced while the replacement of the piston and piston pin is considered during the course of truck engine maintenance. In this way, the coordination of every part of the engine can be guaranteed well. Generally speaking, the space between the connecting rod bushing and piston pin of a heavy-duty truck engine is from 0.005mm to 0.02mm, which is difficult to be measured with ordinary measuring tools and can only be judged by means of usual experience. Make sure there is no resistance and obvious loosening phenomenon while the contact area between the piston pin and connecting rod bushing should be at least 75%.
(1) To replace the connecting rod bushing, the old one must be removed first, which can be disassembled and assembled with pressure equipment and professional tools.
(2) After the new connecting rod bushing is pressed in, it should be drilled according to the size and position of the connecting rod oil hole.
